Stainless Steel
Strong and anti-corrosive Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel is an alloy of steel and chromium known for its strong resistance to corrosion and especially useful in very severe coastal and industrial environments. Popular in commercial and industrial building as a strong, cost effective roofing and cladding product. Residential buildings can also benefit from the strength, durability and maintenance free aspect of stainless steel.
Durability – New York’s Chrysler Building
One of the first uses of stainless steel in roofing was the spire of the much loved art deco Chrysler Building in New York, completed in 1930. Restoration work on the spire was undertaken in 1995, but essentially it is still the same spire and has stood the test of time.
